Uzbek suzani from the Bukhara region. Flowers embroidered on cotton. It has been professionally stretched, backed and mounted on a wooden frame so it is ready to hang.

Sourced in Pakistan, which is on the old Silk Road, the historic trade route that linked Europe with Asia. With close links to Afghanistan and Central Asia it is not surprising that many textiles from across the region end up in Islamabad in particular.
